Thought process

The tool echoed the chip label instead of the user’s selection, so I’m not seeing which option they picked — only Continue with no choice attached.

Since there’s no clear answer, I’ll make a reasonable assumption based on their focus on product design across LinkedIn and Twitter.

I’ll structure this as a short essay with a strong hook, scannable sections, and a clear distinction between presence, work, and judgment.

Now I’m diving into the core topic: how chat products should show thinking without stealing the answer lane.

When to use

Use this pattern when a team is about to ship “thinking” chrome and needs to decide which honesty surface they are funding. Presence for latency personality. Work for tools and citations. Judgment for opt-in rationale — not as a default monologue in the reply.
